This North London project, located in the London Borough of Haringey, reimagines a traditional family home through a series of carefully considered, space-efficient interventions. Designed for a young couple with two children under four, the brief focused on creating a more connected, flexible, and practical environment to support modern family life.
The design centres on relocating the kitchen to the rear of the house, opening the space directly onto the garden and forming a light-filled, open-plan kitchen, dining, and living area. A dedicated utility room sits just off the kitchen, while a compact yet characterful WC is neatly integrated beneath the staircase, enlivened with bold wallpaper to elevate an otherwise functional space.
Two additional flexible rooms accommodate the demands of remote work, serving primarily as home offices and doubling as guest bedrooms for visiting family. Bespoke joinery is integrated throughout, maximising storage and supporting a calm, uncluttered living environment, particularly valuable with young children.
The result is a warm, elegant, and highly adaptable home, thoughtfully designed to evolve alongside the needs of a growing family.
