This North London project transforms a traditional family home through a series of thoughtful, space-efficient interventions designed to support modern family life. For a young couple with two children under four, the brief called for a more connected, flexible, and practical living environment.
The reconfiguration centred on moving the kitchen to the rear of the house, opening up the space to the garden and creating a light-filled, open-plan kitchen, dining and living area, the heart of the home. A new utility room sits just off the kitchen for convenience, while a compact yet playful WC is tucked beneath the staircase, featuring a bold wallpaper that brings joy to a utilitarian space.
Two new flexible rooms were introduced to function as home offices, essential for the parents' remote working routines, but also serve as comfortable guest bedrooms for extended family visiting from abroad. Bespoke joinery throughout maximises storage and enhances calm, clutter-free living, essential in homes with young children.
The result is a home that balances elegance with everyday practicality, offering a warm, adaptable space that evolves with the family.
