Personal Profile

I’m Tania Udaondo Bernau, a Spanish architect originally from Bilbao. I completed my architectural studies in Madrid and have been living and working in London since 2015.

I am a fully qualified architect and a proud member of ARB, RIBA, and COAM. In early 2024, I joined the Worshipful Company of Chartered Architects, and in April 2025, I became a Liveryman of the Company and a Freeman of the City of London. That same month, I was honoured to be elected Honorary Secretary of the RIBA East London Group.

My journey in architecture began during my studies, working on ephemeral projects and small refurbishments in Spain. Before founding my own studio, I gained extensive experience across high-end residential, commercial, office, and mixed-use developments in London. Today, my primary expertise lies in residential refurbishments, including work on Listed Buildings.

I focus on spatial design, storage optimisation, and maximising natural light, blending experience with creativity to offer tailored, thoughtful solutions. I guide projects from feasibility through Planning, Tender, and Construction, collaborating closely with clients to achieve shared goals while coordinating with local authorities, consultants, and contractors to ensure quality at every stage.

Outside of practice, I’m passionate about contributing to the wider architectural community. I write a monthly column for SE10 Greenwich Magazine’s Home & Garden section, offering insights on residential design, trends, and space optimisation to help readers make informed design decisions.

I also volunteer with Women in Architecture, mentoring women transitioning in their careers. Since 2024, I’ve had the privilege of mentoring three inspiring women, an enriching and mutually rewarding experience.

Beyond architecture, I’m a mother of two, and I love rediscovering the world through my children’s eyes. Travel, literature, art, and photography inspire both my personal and professional life. I’m also fluent in Spanish, French, English, and Portuguese, a reflection of my love for languages and connection across cultures.
